May 6, 2020 - Reopening Services Update

At PVD, we’ve made some changes to our usual routines in consideration of the current public health situation.  We are doing our best to ensure a safe, professional environment for our patients and our staff.  To assist us in this effort, we ask that you please consider the following prior to your scheduled appointment:

 - Reschedule or request a tele-medicine appointment if you have any symptoms of illness.

 - Call 2 days prior to your appointment to inform us if you have any travel history in the 14 days before your appointment.

 - Wear a mask or cloth face covering while you are in our office.

 - Plan to come to your appointment alone to help us limit the number or people in our building.  We will make appropriate exceptions for minors and patients with disabilities or other extraordinary circumstances.

And finally, we are reserving our in-office business services and reception area for patients who have appointments with the Providers.  So, if you have an administrative issue we need to address, please call 207-942-0669 and we will assist you as promptly as we can.

If you have a billing question, our staff in the billing office is readily available to you at:  866-719-0191

Thank you for your consideration and cooperation!

March 13, 2020 - Policies & Procedures Information during COVID19

Notice to our patients regarding COVID-19

At Penobscot Valley Dermatology, we pride ourselves on being a safe environment for all of our patients, as well as our staff. Our community is important to us and in light of the recent COVID-19 situation growing closer to home, we want to address your worries and concerns as everyone is reevaluating plans outside their homes.

Dermatology is obviously important to us, but our top priority is the health and safety of patients and employees. We are working diligently to create a clean and safe environment by taking the following steps:

- We are increasing the frequency of our regular cleaning practices, using approved cleaning products, in all areas of our practice, including our waiting and entry areas. All surfaces are cleaned thoroughly several times a day.

- As always our staff practices recommended hand hygiene. In addition we are no longer routinely shaking hands. Staff are also being screened for illness or fevers daily and will be sent home if indicated

- We have canceled all nonessential visitors, gatherings, etc

We will also be taking all available and reasonable steps and accommodations to ensure we can continue to provide care and service to our community. What we will be asking of you, our patients, during this time:

- We may contact you to reschedule any non-urgent appointments to help in minimizing public exposure

- We ask that any and all patients who may be feeling ill to reschedule their appointments

- If you have anyone come with you to your appointment (drivers, family members, friends, etc), we ask that you have them wait in the car if at all possible

- We will be taking measures to screen all entrants to our building, our own staff included, to do what we can to ensure the safety and protection of our patients. During this time, we will ask you to submit to screening prior to entering our facilities in order to ensure everyone's safety.

We thank you for your assistance, cooperation and understanding during this difficult time. Sincerely, Your providers and staff of Penobscot Valley Dermatology
